AMD Unveils Next-Gen AI PC Line at CES 2026, Challenging Nvidia’s Dominance
AMD has taken center stage at CES 2026 with the debut of its Helios AI rack system, directly positioning it against Nvidia's Vera Rubin NVL72. CEO Lisa Su showcased the large-scale rack unit during her keynote, emphasizing its competitive edge in performance. The Helios system will pair 72 MI455X chips with Nvidia's 72 Rubin GPUs, marking a bold MOVE in the AI hardware race.
The company also revealed its MI500 series GPUs, promising a staggering 1,000-fold increase in AI compute power over the Mi300X. Su highlighted the growing demand for such capabilities, predicting five billion daily AI users within five years. AMD's Ryzen AI 400 series PC chips and MI-455 processors further solidify its push into AI-driven data centers.
